How It Started

One Field Trip. One Email.

It started with a field trip. Caiden was at the Shuckers stadium and needed his noise-canceling headphones, and we didn't have them with us. That gap stuck with us.

So we sent an email to the Shuckers with an idea. Not even two years ago, the idea of Caiden throwing out a first pitch, a whole night dedicated to inclusion, sensory accommodations inside the stadium, and our Mobile Sensory Unit on-site didn't exist. Today, it does.

David Blackwell with the Shuckers didn't just offer to help. He set up a meeting. From there, the Shuckers got to work, our sponsors got to work, our volunteers got to work, and our board got to work. Together, we built 24 brand-new sensory sacks filled with noise-reducing headphones, fidget tools, emotion cards, and other tools designed to help families enjoy the game.

Inclusion doesn't happen because people post about it. It happens because people build it. That's what this program is.
