This is our first signature fundraiser. 🥹

Every dollar raised goes straight back into programs that support children on the autism spectrum right here in our local community.

This event only works with community support, and we’re raising our hand to ask. 🖐️

We’re looking for community partners willing to donate time, services, or resources to help make this day unforgettable.

💙✨ Last Friday was one of those days that reminds you why this work matters.

We kicked off our Peer Education Program at East Hancock Elementary and these students showed up ready to learn, ready to listen, and ready to grow.

From the activities to the sensory tool play to the conversations happening in every corner of the room, you could feel the shift.

Kids were curious.
Kids were engaged.
Kids were kind.

This is exactly what the Organization for Autism Research envisioned when they created the “What’s Up With Nick?” program.

Teaching kids early changes everything.

It builds understanding.
It builds safety.

It builds stronger classrooms for autistic students who deserve to feel welcome the moment they walk through the door.

Seeing these students work together last week proved that our county is ready for this.

Over 300 kids in 1st, 3rd and 4th grade participated last week in our first round!

And thank you to every teacher and student who made Friday a day filled with color, curiosity, and compassion.

Y’all… we made it to the Autism Spectrum Disorder Family Resource Fair in Biloxi and I’m grinning like a kid who just found extra fries at the bottom of the bag.

Walking into the Visit Biloxi Center this morning felt big.
Not fancy-big… heart-big.

Every person in this room showed up to support families, share tools, and remind parents they’re not walking this road alone.

💙✨ Collaboration in action for our kids! ✨💙

We are so excited to share that Caiden’s Corner has officially delivered a sensory basket to @hopehavencac, part of the Children’s Advocacy Centers of Mississippi!

This partnership began a few months ago when I met the beautiful Debra Foster at my very first P.A.T. (Partners at the Table) meeting.,,a program hosted by the Hancock County Youth Court and led by the incredible Judge Trent Favre.

P.A.T. brings together local partners once a month to share updates, collaborate, and strengthen resources for the children and families we all serve.

After that meeting, Debra immediately came up to me, handed me her card, and said, “We need to collaborate.” And she meant it! 🙌

A few months later, she reached out to introduce me to the amazing staff at Hope Haven, and we began brainstorming how Caiden’s Corner could support their work.

We talked about the challenges children face during forensic interviews … how high-stress those environments can be, especially for kids on the autism spectrum or those with sensory sensitivities.

So, we got to work!

Together, we created a Dr. Seuss–themed sensory basket for their waiting area …. filled with fidgets, calming tools, a weighted animal, and custom social stories that interviewers can use to help non-speaking or sensory-sensitive children feel safe and regulated during the process. 🧩💛

We’re so proud to see this collaboration come to life … proof that when community partners come together, incredible things happen for our children.

Please remember that not every child who comes to your door will say “trick or treat,” make eye contact, or wear a full costume.

Some kids might be overwhelmed by the sounds, lights, or crowds ....and some might need a little extra time to decide if they even want to come up to the door.

For many of these kids, and for their families, being out in the community on Halloween is a huge milestone worth celebrating. 💙

So when you see a quiet child holding out their bag, or a parent walking beside them offering a gentle nudge ... please respond with kindness, patience, and a big smile.

I told my son to grab his candy and get in the car and he listened a little too literally.

I turned around, and he was gone. My heart dropped.
Within seconds I was ready to shut down the entire store and half of Alabama.

Thankfully he was safe, but that moment changed how I communicate forever.

I don’t think an evaluation can hurt anyone. It can only help. 💙

So many parents don’t realize that school evaluations and medical evaluations are not the same thing. The school can assess how a child performs in the classroom, but only a medical professional can give an actual diagnosis or rule one out.

That diagnosis matters ... because it can change how your child is supported, how behaviors are understood, and what services they qualify for.

I thought a diagnosis would mean the end of dreams.

I used to think milestones came with cake and applause.

First words. First steps. Kindergarten graduations.

But then came speech delays.

Truth #2: By 2023, that number rose to 34.1%.
Progress — but we’ve still got work to do.

❌ Lie: “You have to wait until your child starts school to get a diagnosis.”
Nope. Autism can often be diagnosed before age 3. Early is better.

Day Two of Launch Week...Kindness Kits & Community Connections 💙

Today is such a special one for us at Caiden’s Corner 💙 — we’re officially two days into our Launch Week celebrations and we’re thrilled to be partnering with CASA of South Mississippi to bring more sensory support to children in need.

We noticed a meaningful gap in resources — families and advocates didn’t always have sensory-friendly tools readily available when moments of overwhelm hit.

So, today, we stocked and delivered CASA’s first-ever closet of Kindness Kits. 🎒

Each thoughtfully assembled kit includes:
- Noise-canceling headphones
- Tactile fidgets and stress relief tools
- Calm-down strategies for the kids & more

But we didn’t stop there....our incredible occupational therapist and Programs Director, Kaileigh Brogle, is providing behind-the-scenes educational support to CASA advocates.

She's creating easy-to-use guides and video training so they can help caregivers and children understand and use these tools with intention, not just as distractions.
